Waiting on God is also a way to pray.
It is good to wait and stay calm
Lamentations reveals a prayer that still seeks hope amid ruin and judgment

This short devotional is about prayer, from Lamentations 3:26.
It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
Lamentations 3:26
The scene
Jerusalem, once full of people, sits alone like a widow (Lamentations 1:1). Among the ruins, a man writes: “I am the man who has seen affliction”. He cries out and says God has shut His ears to his prayer.
Even so, he remembers: the Lord’s mercies never end and are new every morning. And he says to those who suffer: be still, put your mouth in the dust; perhaps there is still hope.
In the Bible, there are prayers full of pain that hide nothing from God.
Lamentations holds a prayer full of pain, made among the ruins, hiding nothing.
Christ carried our sorrows and opened the way to the Father. We can bring Him all the pain, without a mask. Speak to the Father this way.
In our day
Some prayers come out short, or do not come out at all. Loss, illness, or waiting weigh on us, and we think we have to pray beautifully for God to hear.
Lamentations shows a prayer without a mask, made in the dust, that still looks to the Lord’s mercy. We can bring the Lord our silence and our tears, and wait quietly on His goodness, which is renewed every morning.
Consolation. Lamentations reminds us that the Lord does not reject forever (Lamentations 3:31).
Hope grows when we remember who God is. Rejoice in the Lord, who does not give up on His own.

Sadness. Lamentations does not hide the pain: Jerusalem is alone like a widow (Lamentations 1:1).
Pain does not need decoration to reach the Lord. He sees the sadness and has compassion on His own. Rest in Him and breathe.
Brokenness. Lamentations does not hide the pain: Jerusalem is alone like a widow (Lamentations 1:1).

Weariness. Lamentations does not hide the pain: Jerusalem is alone like a widow (Lamentations 1:1).
Pain does not need decoration to reach the Lord. He sees the sadness and has compassion on His own. Rest in Him and breathe.
Today, when the pain presses in, I will pray sincerely, even in few words, and remember that His mercy has no end.
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him.
There are questions that only find their answer in silence. And there are silences only God can translate.
